Repurposing glass and providing opportunity for Hong Kong Youth

Faith in Love Foundation collaborated with Project Change on a summer rehabilitation program in July of 2022 with a focus on material up-cycle, basic construction education and training. The participants and volunteers spent a week in Cheung Chau to learn characteristics of glass re-purposing, safety, and aesthetic engineering.
Project Change, established in 2020, is a non-profit, multi-disciplinary initiative operating independently from government funding. The organisation’s primary mission is to support youth who were arrested during Hong Kong’s 2019 anti-Extradition Bill protests, specifically focusing on the 6,500+ arrestees under age 25 from a total of over 10,000 arrests. Their comprehensive support system extends not only to the affected youth but also to their families. The organisation provides three core services: psychological counselling, judicial process support, and a comprehensive reintegration program. Their recent successful event, “Come Together, Igniting Hope,” held on July 4, 2025, attracted over 200 attendees and featured powerful testimonials from seven youth participants and three parent speakers. They regularly publish a newsletter called “The Changes,” which highlights case studies and success stories from their work. Project Change has built a strong support network, including professionals like Ms Wong, a banker who provides internship opportunities, and Professor Chan, a retired academic who assists with educational reintegration.
At its core, Project Change emphasises hope, rehabilitation, and non-judgmental support, focusing on practical assistance and community reintegration. Their approach combines emotional support with tangible educational and career development opportunities, helping young people rebuild their lives effectively. Through their professional and comprehensive support system, Project Change continues to make a significant impact in helping young people navigate their way back into society while maintaining dignity and hope for their future.
The organisation operates from their office at Room RD20, 12/F, 133 Wai Yip Street, and can be contacted at (852) 9689 1439 or info@projectchange.hk.
